ADVANCED training program

Beyond Pilates Advanced Teacher Training Program is a comprehensive certification program designed for high intermediate to advanced level practitioners with certification and teaching experience who are committed to becoming skilled and confident practitioners and instructors of the classical Pilates method.

About the Advanced Training Program

The Beyond Pilates Advanced Training Program is divided into a series of four Weekend Intensives, each focusing on the classical Pilates repertoire of exercises for one or more specific apparatus, which must be taken in consecutive order. Each Weekend Intensive in the series is intended to enable teachers to gain a deeper and stronger overall understanding of the classical Pilates method that Joseph Pilates created and requires a high degree of advance familiarity with the workshop material, the exercises and their order and proficiency in performing all the exercises.

In order to qualify for the Beyond Pilates Advanced Training Program, teachers must already hold a certificate or accreditation from a comprehensive Pilates certification program, have a minimum two years of Pilates teaching experience and complete the application form. As this series of Weekend Intensives is a very rigorous performance-based program, there is a mandatory proficiency evaluation for entrance to each individual Weekend Intensive prior to acceptance.

Please note: Being accepted into the first Weekend Intensive of the series does not automatically guarantee entrance to subsequent Weekend Intensives. At the program director’s discretion, a student may be held back until the following year if the desired understanding or proficiency necessary to proceed and build upon before the next Weekend Intensive is not readily apparent. Beyond Pilates Advanced Training Program is structured as a one-year course of study, but depending on individual circumstances, the entire program must be completed within two years in order to qualify for your awarded certificate.

In order to assist in your preparation for the entrance proficiency evaluations Beyond Pilates currently offers in studio private lessons, the BP Teacher Toolbox Labs and or Skype sessions. Evaluations can be made in person or via Skype no later than one month before each Weekend Intensive.
